Description
Ride Your Wave (2019) is a poignant animated romantic fantasy film directed by Masaaki Yuasa and produced by Science SARU. The story revolves around Hinako Mukaimizu, a carefree college student who moves to a coastal town to pursue her passion for surfing, despite lacking direction in her everyday life. When a fire breaks out in her apartment building, she is rescued by Minato Hinageshi, a dedicated and brave young firefighter with an earnest desire to help others. The two quickly bond over surfing and fall deeply in love, but tragedy strikes when Minato suddenly loses his life at sea while attempting to save a stranger. Consumed by grief, Hinako discovers that singing the song they once shared causes Minato’s spirit to magically reappear in water surfaces wherever she goes. Exploring poignant themes of love, sudden loss, moving on, and self-confidence, this visually vibrant anime movie is presented here in high quality with English subtitles and English dubbed audio options.
